ISB Riffa Holds Investiture Ceremony for Junior Prefects

The Indian School Bahrain, Riffa Campus organised the Annual Investiture Ceremony for its Junior Prefects on May 21, 2019 in the school auditorium. The swearing in ceremony of the 24-member Prefects Council was attended by the Indian School Hon. EC Members Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Ajayakrishnan V, Principal Pamela Xavier who pinned the badges in the presence of Head Teachers and Co-ordinators, teachers and proud teachers. The auditorium echoed with plenty of applause and cheers by the students to boost the morale of their friends. Ishan Vijesh was sworn in as the Head Boy and Rutuja Ganesh Jadhav as the Head Girl. Devasree Cheerambath Susanthkumar and Shashankit Rupesh Iyer were inducted to the positions of Assistant Head Girl and Assistant Head Boy respectively. Meenakshi Deepak was invested as Eco-Ambassador. The school has unfolded great plans to focus on e- conservation and sustainability. The rest of the crew will ably support the school in all its initiatives as Prefect Members. EC Member Mohammad Khursheed Alam in his felicitation address congratulated the students and briefed them on their duties and responsibilities. He applauded the staff and parents of the Junior School for enriching the lives of students and creating future leaders . EC Member Ajayakrishnan V quizzed the students on leadership skills, cited examples of resilient leaders and provided tips to maintain the drive. He also cheered the audience stating that every student is a leader who will surely explore their unique abilities at some juncture with the right spur. Principal Pamela Xavier administered the oath of office to the new leaders. She defined a leader as someone who thinks of everyone, thinks without limits, and sees opportunity when other people see obstacles. She also mentioned that a leader must help capacity building among all by being at the base of the leadership triangle to ensure that all the students are helped on to rise up towards its peak. The members embarked on the new journey with the promise to uphold the values of respect, responsibility and do their personal best. Head Boy Ishan Vijesh welcomed the dignitaries and shared his vision and aspirations on being inducted to the prefect body. The vote of thanks was proposed by Head Girl Rutuja Ganesh Jadhav who shared Mother Teresa's words of inspiration : ‘ Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is yet to come. We have only today, Let’s begin’. The charming young comperes of Class III Mehreen Fayaz, Nandika Suvid and Brindha Brajesh Poojary wonderfully held the event peppy to the end. Earlier the ceremony commenced with the young welcome troupe giving a fitting Guard of Honour to the dignitaries who graced the function. It was followed by the Anthems, Holy Book recital and ISB school song by the charismatic Riffa choristers.
