Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations at the Indian School Bahrain

The Indian School Bahrain celebrated Gandhi Jayanti under the patronage of the Embassy of India in the Jashanmal Auditorium of the Isa town campus. The Ambassador His Excellency Shri Alok Kumar Sinha was the Chief Guest of the evening. His Excellency Shri Alok Kumar Sinha congratulated the students and the school for organizing this event. He reminded everyone of the thinking process; Mahatma Gandhi was associated with. He urged everyone to be active in the Swach Bharath Abhiyan of the Government of India and extend it to the country in which they reside. The embassy of India in Bahrain also made a presentation on the life of Bapuji. The Hon. Chairman of the school Mr. Prince Natarajan said that Gandhiji’s ideals are worth adapting and implementing in life. He lived for a cause and established the concept of Ahimsa. The Hon. Secretary Dr. Shemily P John in her address reminded everyone the path on which Gandhiji walked. He was the apostle of peace and non-violence. Various performances by the students depicting the life of Mahatma Gandhi were presented. A skit on the principles for which Mahatma Gandhi stood for were presented by the senior students. The primary campus students presented a patriotic song and a dance. The function was attended by the other Executive Committee members Hon. Vice-Chairman Mr. Muhammed Iqbal, Hon. Asst. Secretary Dr. Manoj Kumar, Hon. Member Academics Mr. Khursheed Alam, Hon. Member IT Mr. Saji Anthony, Hon. Member Transport and Discipline Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Hon. Member Sports Mr. Jayafar Maidani, Principals Mr. V R Palaniswamy and Mr. Sudhir Krishnan, Staff Representative Mrs. Priya Laji, staff, parents and the students of the school.
