ISB celebrates Sardar Patel’s Birth Anniversary

Under the patronage of the Embassy of India, the Indian School Bahrain celebrated the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the first Home Minister of India popularly known as the iron man of India. In a glittering function held in the Isa town campus the students of the Social Science Department of the school put up a grand show. His Excellency Shri Alok Kumar Sinha the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain was present during the function along with Shri Anand Prakash the Second Secretary of the Embassy. The programme commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp. Teachers Mr. Jose Thomas and Ms. Dilna Shaji and students Ms. Nandini Rajesh and Ms. Riya Jiji George spoke about the contribution of Sardar Patel and his role in the national integration of India. His Excellency Shri Alok Kumar Sinha spoke at length about the qualities of Sardar Patel and his role in the formation of a united India. Present during the occasion were Mr. Mohammed Khursheed Alam, Executive Committee member of The Indian School, Principal Mr. V R Palaniswamy, Vie-Principals, staff and students.
