TAMIL DAY CELEBRATED IN ISB
The Department of Tamil celebrated the Tamil Day in the Isa town campus in a glittering function. It mark the first day of the four day long Pongal festival in the State of Tamilnadu in India. Advocate M G K Nizamudeen the Ex-MLA of Tamilnadu State Assembly was the Chief Guest of the function. Tamil language is also taught as third language in the school. The Department put up a traditional show and a grand one before the select audience in the school. Earlier the programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Mrs. Reji Job, Coordinator welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude at the presence of the Chief Guest. The Hon. Vice-Chairman Mr. Muhammed Iqbal in his address conveyed his greetings to one and all and spoke about the beauty of Tamil language. He wished everyone a Happy Pongal on behalf of the Executive Committee of the school. There were few scintillating regional art performances which the students of the school presented. In his address the Chief Guest Advocate M G K Nizamudeen, expressed surprise on this celebration home away from home!!! He said that the land of Bahrain that welcomes all cultures is a marvelous one. In his interactive address to the students he explained the status of Tamil language and how the festival of Pongal is celebrated over the years in Tamilnadu. Dr. M Rasheed Head of Department of Commerce proposed the vote of thanks. The programmed was attended by the Staff Representative Mrs. Priya Laji, Head Teachers, staff, community leaders and students of the school. The traditional Pongal; a dish of rice and jiggery was distributed to all after the programme.
