The Indian School bags UNESCO Award

The Indian School bags UNESCO Award The Indian School Bahrain bagged the UNESCO Award 2017 for the Best Academic Section implementing Education for Climate change and sustainable development by the Bahrain National Commission for UNESCO. The Indian School was awarded the first prize among the private schools category in Bahrain. The award was presented in a function attended by the Minster of Education His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Naimi and UNESCO Director General Ms. Irina Bokova . Other luminaries during the event were the Under Secretary for Educational Affairs and Curricula Dr. Fawzi AbdulRahman Al Jowdhar and Dr. Lubna, Secretary General of National Commission for UNESCO Bahrain and officails from the Ministry of Education. The Principal of the Indian School Mr. V R Palaniswamy received the award. Class VI student Vikram Rathod’s project on Climate change and sustainable development was awarded the best project. It is a proud moment for the Indian School. The school has been a member of the UNESCO affiliated schools for the past two years. This school has received the award the second time. The Executive Committee congratulated the school, the teachers, the Coordinators Mrs. Rukaiyya and Mr. Narayanan and the students for this great achievement. The Indian School is committed to the environment and being a socially responsible institution the school has been spreading awareness on climate change and adopted all themes of UNESCO
