ISB Youth festival off to a colourful start The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Youth Festival Tarang 2017 began last night at the school campus in Isa Town with a colourful Arabic dance performed by the students of senior classes. The first prize in Arabic Dance (A-Level) was won by Vikram Srabhai House. Arayabhata House and CV Raman House won the second and third prize respectively. In Arabic Dance B level the first prize was won by Aryabhata House. JC Bose House and CV Raman House won second and third prize respectively. The Tarang 2017, the biggest School Youth Festival in the Gulf countries, with the participation of over 3000 students in 126 events was inaugurated by ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan by lighting the lamp in the presence of ISB executive committee members. The stage events are taking place in five venues in the campus. The Grand Finale will be on Thursday, September 28. ISB Secretary Dr Shemily P John, Vice Chairman Moahmmed Iqbal, Assistant General Secretary Dr C G Manoj Kumar, Executive Committee Members Mohammad Khursheed Alam(Academics), Saji Antony (IT) Jayafar Maidani (Sports), Principal V R Palaniswamy, Vice Principals, Head Teachers, coordinators, teachers and parents were present on the occasion. This year prizes for the group events Arabic Dance Level A&B were distributed last night itself immediately after the declaration of the results. The students from age group 6 to 17 are grouped in levels A, B, C and D. “ ISB Tarang is a festival unique in its structure and organization. Looking back into the history of ISB it is seen that the Youth Festival has refined much in letter and spirit. Students get opportunity to express their innate talent in here. We have ensured the services of judges who are highly competent in their field,’ said ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan. “The ISB youth festival provides the students’ artistic and cultural development. The Tarang festival has become the forum where young artistic talents are discovered and ISB is committed to enrich the students talents in every field of curriculum, said ISB Vice Chairman in-charge of activities Muhammed Iqbal. The Indian School youth festival gives students the opportunity to develop the qualities of mutual respect, communal harmony and national integration, besides developing their artistic potentials, said ISB Secretary Dr Shemily P John. ISB has strength of 12250 students and Tarang 2017 is a much-awaited event in the school calendar. The participants scoring maximum points in stage and non-stage events will be awarded the prestigious Kalashri and Kalathilakam awards at the Grand Finale on Thursday.
