ISB celebrates Bahrain National Day

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Bahrain National Day and International Day of Arabic Language on December 12, 2017 in the Jashanmal Auditorium of the Isa Town Campus with great pomp and colour. It was a grand show put up by the Arabic Department of the school. The National Flag was hoisted by ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan in the presence of EC Member Jayafar Maidani, Principal VR Palaniswamy , staff and students of the school. Prince S Natarajan hailed the dedicated efforts of the Arabic Department which were exerted to reflect the crucial importance of the national days among the students. Prince S Natarajan thanked the Bahrain rulers and said the Kingdom which is a model for religious diversity, tolerance, and co-existence, is a home away from home for the Indian expatriates. National Day is a time when we all reflect on the National Charter of Bahrain, which His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa initiated, he said. EC Member Jayafar Maidani said Indian expatriates are indebted to the visionary rulers and the peace-loving citizens of Bahrain. HOD Rukaiya A Rahim welcomed the gathering and presented Arabic departmental report. Outstanding students were honoured by the subject teachers during the programme. Students in traditional Bahrain attire filled in the auditorium waving Bahrain flags. The programme commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran and the National Anthem of Bahrain. A variety of cultural programmes were organized including display of traditional Bahraini wedding attire. Students presented group song, poem,speech, debate and cultural quiz about Arabic language.
