ISB Celebrates Republic Day and Pride

ISB celebrates Republic Day and Pride The Indian school celebrated the Indian Republic Day in a great style. The flag hoisting took place in the Isa town campus. The Hon. Chairman Mr. Prince S Natarajan hoisted the tricolor in the presence of Hon. Secretary Dr. Shemily P John, Hon. Vice-Chairman Mr. Muhammed Iqbal, Hon. Member Academics Mr. Khursheed Alam, Hon. Member Finance Mr. S K Ramachandran, Hon. Member IT Mr. Saji Anthony, Hon. Member Sports Mr. Jayafar Maidani, Principals of both the campus Mr. V R Palaniswamy and Mr. Sudhir Krishnan, staff, student and parents of the school. The Indian School band in red marched through the ground and offered the salute. The Chief Guest of the day Mr. K V Rajasekharan Pillai, an Indian School parents and the the Indian Government Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Awardee was felicitated in the programme that followed in the Auditorium. Mr. Prince S Natarajan said that the honour of an Indian School parent being awarded the highest award for NRI is worth sharing worth. Dr. Shemily P John in her address said that Mr. K V Rajasekharan Pillai is a man who believes in simplicity and high thinking. The other speakers were Mr. G K Nair, Mr. Unnikrishnan and Dr. Babu Ramachandran. Mr. K V Rajasekharan Pillai was overwhelmed at the reception he received in the Indian School and said that he will be associated with the school in all capacities he can. He congratulated the school and the management in its meritorious showing. Awards were distributed to the Indian School band students who served the band with excellence in the previous year. 32 bandsmen were felicitated for their quality services. The Indian School CBSE Cluster Bahrain Chapter Award for Academic awards were also distributed. Out of 9 prizes ISB bagged 8 prizes for academic excellence. The top 3 awards of Class 12 for Science, 1st and 3rd award for Commerce and all the three awards for Humanities stream were bagged by the school. ISB students were the island toppers in the CBSE class 12 examinations. The parents of the students received the awards which were presented by the CBSE Gulf Council. The Principal Mr. V R Palaniswamy also presented given to the school by the Gulf Council to the members of the Executive Committee. It is indeed a proud moment for the school. The school also presented awards to the CBSE Nationals Cluster Badminton bronze medalists Sanjay Jaimi, Nadeed Nahaz and their coach Mr. Junith C M. it is for the first time ISB has won a medal at the CBSE Nationals in badminton. It has been raining awards for the students of the school. Earlier the school also felicitated dr. Manish Arora, an ISB alumni who received the Early Career Award for former U S President Mr. Barrack Obama for his research work. Dr. Manish Arora’s sister received the award on his behalf band read out his message in which Dr. Manish Arora thanked the school and its teachers for providing him the right platform to excel in life. The ward ceremony was followed by a Quiz programme that was conducted by the quiz master Dr. Babu Ramachandran. Six different teams that consisted of students for Class 6, 7 and 8 particiapted in the Quiz.
