ISB Community Sports Fest: Chess Winners Announced

 As part of the ISB Community Sports Fest 2023 a Chathuranga (Chess) Tournament was held by the Indian School under the patronage of the Indian Embassy on May 13,14 and 15. The tournament which was conducted as per the latest FIDE  guidelines was held with the support of Arjun’s Chess Academy. Following are the winners.
Under -10 Boys Winners: 1.Hudson Antony-5 points,2.Arnav Ajesh Nair-4 points, 3.Noel Abraham Punnoose-4 points.
Under-10 Girls Winners: 1.Yashvi Kaushal Shah-4.5 points,  2.Saira Mahajan-4 points, 3.Vardini Jayaprakash-4 points.
Under-16 Boys Winners: 1.Pranav Bobby Sekhar-6.5 points, 2.Anish Vaman Khorjuenkar-6 points, 3.Vyom Gupta-6 points.
Under-16 Girls Winners: 1.Kanushi Kishore-6 points,  2.Dhruvi Shrikant Panigrahi-5 points, 3.Chaarvi Jain-5 points.
Open Category Winners: 1.Pranav Bobby Sekhar-9 points, 2.Prithvi Raj Prajeesh-8 points, 3.Anish Vaman Korjuenkar-7 points.
Women’s Chess Winners:1.Dhruvi Shrikant Panigrahi-5 points, 2.Khansa Nazeem-4 points, 3.Sanjana Selvaraj-3 points.  
ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon.Secreatry Saji Antony, EC Member-Sports Rajesh MN, EC Member –Finance Binu Mannil Varughese, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Arjun’s Chess Academy CEO Arjun Kakkadath and Convener Tawfeeq  attended the finale of the chess tournament.  The school held its first-ever chess challenge in which more than 280 people participated in a healthy cognitive competition with each other.  The Community Sports Fest was held in the ISB Isa Town campus Jashanmal Auditorium.
ISB Community Sports Fest 2023 is held in celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate the 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. The sports fest is also held in celebration of the 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Kingdom of Bahrain.  
 
The Indian School will organize a plethora of activities as part of the Sports Fest.  Other sports events which include Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Tug of War, Kabaddi and Athletics are held expecting the enthusiastic support and participation of the Indian School parents and Indian community members in addition to various schools in the Kingdom. These sports events will be held in the coming weeks. Indian School officials said community sports fest creates a culture of wellness and boosts the camaraderie among the community.

The Indian School is a CBSE affiliated school located in Bahrain. It was founded in the year 1950. The Indian School, Bahrain has around 12,000 students and is one of the largest co-ed schools in the Gulf.
