Indian School Inducts New Student Leaders

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Prefectorial Council for the academic year 2023-2024 was formally inducted during an investiture ceremony held in the Jashanmal auditorium on Tuesday May 30, 2023.  ISB   Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, EC Members Rajesh MN, Mohammed Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy, Senior Section Vice-Principal Anand Nair, Vice- Principal (Academics) Satheesh G, Middle Section Vice-Principal Vinod S A  and Head Teachers attended the ceremony.
Daneysh Subramanian was inducted  as the Head Boy and Sahasra Kotagiri as the Head Girl of the Prefectorial Council for Level - A which consists of classes XI and XII. For classes X and IX (Level B)   Sidharth Sajeevan was selected as the Head Boy and Rudra Rupesh Aiyer as the Head Girl. For classes VI to VIII (Level C) Kalvi Fabian Rozario is the Head Boy and Sreelakshmi Ettammal is the Head Girl.  Alin Babu Pathickal is the Head Boy and Lakshya Ramakrishnan is the Head Girl of Level D from class IV and V.  The Prefectorial Council  consists of  students from classes IV to XII who were selected based on interviews considering their organizational and leadership abilities. Senior Section Vice-Principal Anand Nair and Middle Section Vice-Principal Vinod S A declared the names of the prefects. Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan handed over the school flag to the Head Boy.  
Prince S. Natarajan said the Prefect Council is a forum for the teaching and student communities to interact and that the  Council members should take their responsibilities in the true spirit of teamwork which will help in bringing all students together. He reminded the student leaders to be gracious and lead from the front.
Hon. Secretary  Saji Antony said the purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership qualities by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects.
Principal VR Palaniswamy said: ‘It’s important for students to experience leadership opportunities during their schooling, to learn the art of building relationships within teams, defining identities and achieving tasks effectively.'  
The Head Boy and the Head Girl said they would be  working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its students. Earlier the programme started with the national anthem, reading of the Holy Quran and the lighting of the lamp followed by the school prayer.
