ISB Celebrates Vishwa Hindi Divas 2020
Promoting Hindi at the global stage, the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Vishwa Hindi Divas 2020 on Thursday, January 9. The programme was organised by the ISB Hindi Department under the patronage of the Indian Embassy in vibrant colors at the school’s Jashanmal auditorium. Indian Embassy Second Secretary Renu Yadav was the chief guest on this occasion. The Programme was inaugurated by ISB Principal V R Palaniswamy in the presence of Vice-Principals Anand R Nair, Satheesh G, Vinod Asari, Head Teachers Jose Thomas, Parvathi Devadasan and Priya Laji. In her speech the chief guest Mrs. Renu Yadav highlighted the contribution of Hindi language, highlighting its impact on Indian Culture in many ways. ‘ Hindi Language has lots of good quality to be the connecting language in India. Through this language any person can communicate in any part of this multilingual country India, she said. Mrs. Renu Yadav appreciated the effort done by the Indian School towards the organization of Vishwa Hindi Divas in a grand manner. She also recited a Hindi poem on the occasion. Mrs. Renu Yadav appreciated the program conducted and presented by the students specially the patriotic song performed by the first prize winner Athul Krishna, a students of class X at the ISB. The program started with the national anthem and school prayer song followed by the lighting of the lamp, the symbol of knowledge. HoD Baboo Khan welcomed the gathering. This was the grand finale of a week-long celebrations. Earlier as the first phase of the celebrations, Inter-school competitions were organized on December 21. Competitions were held in Hand Writing ( Std. IV), Poem Recitation( Std. V), Story Telling (Std VI), Doha Recitation (Std VII),Vigyapan Prastuti (Std VIII), Hindi Solo Song (Std IX & X) and Hindi Essay Writing (Std IX & X). In the end of the program all winners were awarded with a trophy and certificate by the chief guest. Mr. Baboo Khan announced the winner’s name. Senior teacher Mrs. Shalini Mareena gave vote of thanks. The Asian School, the New Millennium School, the New Indian School, Bahrain Indian School, New Horizon School and Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School were the other CBSE schools who took part in the celebrations. Apart from competitions there were lots of variety programs such as patriotic songs and dances, Rajasthani dances and songs. First Prize winners for Hindi Poem Recitation, Hindi Doha Recitation and Hindi Solo Song performed on the occasion of the grand finale.
