Principal's Message

Santha Kumar Dasari

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” – Albert Einstein

It is with immense pride, humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I join The Indian School, Bahrain, an institution with a rich and glorious history spanning more than 75 years. It is truly an honour and a privilege to serve as the Principal of an institution that has played a significant role in shaping generations of young minds and contributing to the educational journey of the Indian community in Bahrain.

Education is much more than academic achievement. It is a journey of discovering one’s potential, developing character, nurturing values and preparing young people to face the challenges of an ever-changing world. As Nelson Mandela rightly said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Our responsibility, therefore, is not merely to prepare students for examinations, but to prepare them for life.

My vision for the school is centred on the satisfaction and well-being of every stakeholder—our students, parents, teachers, staff and the wider school community. I believe that a thriving educational institution is one where every individual feels valued, respected, heard and inspired to contribute meaningfully.

At the same time, we must remain firmly rooted in the rich traditions, values and legacy of The Indian School, Bahrain. Our heritage is our strength, and it is our collective responsibility to uphold and enrich the traditions that have earned this institution its distinguished place in the community. While honouring our past, we must also embrace the future with confidence and openness.

The rapidly evolving world of technology presents us with tremendous opportunities. My vision is to thoughtfully integrate technological innovation, digital learning and emerging educational practices into our teaching and school development, ensuring that our students are equipped with the skills, creativity, adaptability and critical thinking required for the future. Technology, however, should remain a means to enrich education, while human values, relationships and compassion remain at its heart.

I firmly believe that every child is unique, capable and full of potential. Our role as educators is to create an environment where students can learn without fear, question with curiosity, think independently, create confidently and grow into responsible and compassionate human beings.

Together with our dedicated teachers and staff, supportive parents and enthusiastic students, I look forward to building a learning community that strives for excellence while remaining grounded in values. Let us create an environment where academic excellence goes hand in hand with character, creativity, collaboration, empathy and responsible citizenship.

As we move forward, let us cherish our legacy, embrace innovation and remain committed to the holistic development of every learner. Our past gives us pride, our present gives us purpose, and our future gives us hope.

I warmly welcome you to The Indian School, Bahrain, and look forward to a meaningful and rewarding journey together.

“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you”
