ISB celebrates Teachers’ Day
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) students hosted several activities to honour teachers as part of the celebrations for Teachers’ Day on September 5 at the Isa Town campus. The ISB Middle Section students’ programme was held during the home room period. Students made greeting cards to express their admiration for teachers. They gave speeches about the importance of Teachers Day. Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan in a message said: ‘The teaching profession requires people who have the conviction to nurture young minds and mould them into something great. Since time immemorial, the profession of teaching has been considered as one of the noblest professions. Teachers ask questions and help students find answers. Yet learning isn’t only about finding the right answer, but also creating the road that leads to the answer. Learning with every step is the true sign of progress.' Hon.Secretary Saji Antony said: ‘Learning may begin in the classroom, but it certainly doesn’t end there. Teachers set up the signs for the road ahead that is life itself. They inspire students to learn wherever life may take them.’ Principal VR Palaniswamy said: ‘Teachers work with what they have. Their time and resources may be limited, but a young mind is limitless. Students' passion for learning is all that is necessary for teachers to do their job.’ In India, Teachers’ Day is held on September 5 annually in honour of Dr S Radhakrishnan, an Indian philosopher and statesman who served as the first Vice President of India (1952–1962) and the second President of India (1962–1967).
