Indian School celebrates Malayalam and Sanskrit Days
Malayalam Day and Sanskrit Day were celebrated with various programmes in the Indian School on Tuesday. The celebration held at the Jashanmal Auditorium under the auspices of the Malayalam and Sanskrit Departments was inaugurated by Maya Kiran,famous writer of fiction in Malayalam, by lighting the lamp. Principal VR Palaniswamy, Vice-Principals, Staff Representative Johnson Devassy, Head Teachers, Heads of Departments and Language teachers were present on the occasion. Maya Kiran shared her childhood experiences related to the Malayalam language with the children. She spoke about the importance of learning Malayalam; and how children can handle a fluent language like Sanskrit. Head of Malayalam Department Bismi Jommy coordinated the event. Students of the Middle Section and Senior Section participated in various programmes. Aaron Viju welcomed the gathering . Group song, semi-classical dance, poetry recitation, group dance and solo song added colour to the function. The Malayalam and Sanskrit Departments of the Indian School organized various competitions for the students. Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners at the function. Meenakshi Madhu Deepthi gave vote of thanks. The dedicated participation of the students, the sincere efforts of the teachers and the wholehearted support of the management made the programme outstanding. Indian School Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon. Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the students who actively participated in the programme which was well organized by the Malayalam and Sanskrit Departments.
