ndian School Annual Sports Day 2022: J.C Bose House Wins Overall Championship
J.C Bose House has won the overall championship in the 42nd Annual Sports Meet of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) which was held on Friday, November 18,2022 . The overall champions J.C Bose House got 387 points while C.V Raman House became the runners up with 378 points. Vikram Sarabhai House with 304 points bagged the third place while Aryabhata House got the fourth place with 283 points. Students from both the campuses (Riffa and Isa Town) participated in the colourful event that was conducted in the Isa Town campus from 8am to 2.30pm. Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ravi Kumar Jain and Reem (Education Ministry) were the chief guests. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Hon.Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidani, Executive Committee Members Premalatha NS, Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Ajayakrishnan V, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Staff Representative Johnson K. Devassy and Vice-Principals attended the inaugural ceremony. The programme started with national anthems of Bahrain and India. It was followed by school prayer. Second Secretary Ravi Kumar Jain hoisted the school flag. The opening ceremony was a colorful event with march past to the accompaniment of the school band, Bharat Scouts and Guides and state wise processions which brought forth the spirit of different Indian states. Earlier Principal VR Palaniswamy welcomed the gathering. ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan who declared the meet open, gave presidential address in which he reinstated the school’s commitment to the development of sports and games which is integral to the overall development of the students personality. Physical Education HoD Saikat Sarkar presented the report. Saji Antony gave vote of thanks. School athletes handed over the Olympic torch to Prince S Natarajan who lit the lamp. The event was witnessed by a large number of students and parents. More than 600 medals and trophies were distributed to the winners. In the march past Aryabhata House won the first prize with 74 points. CV Raman House and Vikram Sarabhai House shared the second prize with 70 points each. J.C Bose House won third prize in the march past with 61 points. Following are the Individual champions: 1.
