Indian School holds Book Week
A weeklong book fair offering a wide array of books on a range of topics was held at the Indian School Bahrain(ISB) campus in Isa Town from January 15 to 19, 2023. A slew of literary and cultural programmes mainly centered on inculcating reading habits in children were part of the weeklong book fair organised by the Indian School Department of Library and Information Science. The ISB Book Fair 2023 was formally inaugurated on Sunday by Vice-Principal -Academics Satheesh G and Vice-Principal-Middle Section Vinod S in the presence of Head Teachers, co-coordinators, staff and students. The Book Fair was organized with the objective of inculcating reading in students. Major Book Shops put up their stalls in the Book Fair providing the opportunity for students to buy and enjoy reading books which takes children to the new horizon of knowledge, imagination and creativity honing their critical thinking and judgment. During the Book Week,competitions like short story writing in English , library logo design, book review, news reading and fancy dress were conducted. These competitions helped in bringing out the latent expressive potential, freelance writing skills and histrionic talents of the students. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon. Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the meticulous organization of the book week which nurtured love of language and literacy in children.
