Union Minister V Muraleedharan Visits Indian School
Indian Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan interacted with the students at the Indian School Bahrain(ISB) on Friday, May 5,2023. The programme was held at the school's Jashanmal auditorium in Isa Town campus.
Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava, ISB Hon.Chairman Prince Natarajan,Hon.SecretarySaji Antony, Executive Committee Members Binu Mannil Vrughese, Rajesh MN,Premalatha NS,Mohammad Nayaz Ullah,Principal VR Palaniswamy,Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy,Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ravi Kumar Jain, Ihjas Aslam, Principals of the CBSE affiliated schools in the Kingdom, staff and students attended the programme which began with the national anthem.
Union Minister V Muraleedharan who lighted the lamp gave a felicitation speech in which he appreciated the achievements of the Indian schools in the Kingdom. Referring to the ISB, the minister said: ''I'm delighted to be here in this historic and one of the largest schools in the region. I’m glad to know that the Indian School Bahrain is a UNESCO affiliated school which has earned a great reputation as a center of educational excellence in the country. It's a pleasure to interact with the ignited minds. I take this opportunity to thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain for providing facilities to create institutions like the Indian School Bahrain to teach the Indian curriculum. Referring to the contemporary world scenario the minister said that today the world is witnessing rapid changes in the field of education. It’s important to update our knowledge to face the changing environment and challenges. After pandemic days, schools are back to normalcy. Indian schools in the kingdom have made a mark in the educational landscape of the kingdom. The minister said India has made tremendous strides in the field of education. Providing holistic development of students through education and infrastructure is a priority of the government of India, the minister said.
Union Minister Muraleedharan also held a lively interaction with the students from various schools in the Kingdom. Answering questions from the students he said India’s strength is its unity in diversity. India has the resilience to face all challenges and capability to assimilate everything. This quality of assimilation and resilience is something that every member of the new generation should inculcate. National Education Policy (NEP) aims to equip Indian students to face challenges in the global scenario. India's power in influencing global foreign policies is much higher now. Whatever we do is aimed to be beneficial for the whole world, the minister told the students.
Earlier welcoming the minister, ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan said the Indian school had been set up in 1950 primarily to nurture human values and instill national pride in the new generation. He said the school equips our children to become talented, accomplished, and proud citizens of 21st century India. This is a school where the quest for knowledge will go hand in hand with a respect for values, and a heightened sense of individual responsibilities, he said. On behalf of the school, Prince Natarajan presented a memento to the minister. The School Band and Scouts and Guides ushered in the minister to the auditorium. Hon. Secretary Saji Antony gave vote of thanks. The minister also interacted with the CBSE school principals, ISB officials and parents during his visit to the Indian School. Students Rudra Rupesh Aiyer and Aradhya K were the masters of the ceremonies.
