Indian School Celebrates Maths Day 2023
The Indian School, Bahrain (ISB) organized Maths Day on May 17 and 18, 2023 with various intra and inter school competitions. As part of the celebrations Maths Talent Search Exam (MTSE) for class IV to VIII, Model Making for class IV and V, Working Model Making for class VI to VIII, Display Board Competition for class IX to XII, Inter School Quiz for grade IX, X and XI and Inter School Symposium for grade X, XI and XII were held with enthusiastic participation of the students.
Aarav Shrivastava, Aradhya Sandheep and Saanvi Choudary secured the first, second and third place respectively and Jameul Islam and Devanshi Dinesh secured the class IV and V topper awards respectively in the Maths Talent Search Exam for grade IV and V.
In the VI to VIII category, Madhav Deven Vyas, Shashant Ravikrishnan and Avanthika Anilkumar secured the first, second and third prize respectively and Awwab Subair, Ritvik Shibu and Sreya Sosa John secured the class VI, VII and VIII topper awards respectively.
In the Model Making for grade IV and V, Evania Rose Benson, Samyukta Balaji and Aaradhya Remeshan secured the first, second and third place respectively. Divino Afflency Jebastian Anushia and Tanaaya Bandodkar were adjudged the class IV and V toppers respectively.
In the Working Model contest for grade VI to VIII, Sreya Sosa John, Haifa M. Y and Devananda Rajesh secured the first, second and third place respectively. Salwa Fathima, Fidha Fathima and Pratigyan Swain bagged the class topper award for class VI, VII and VIII respectively.

Asian School, Bahrain Indian School, Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School, New Indian School and New Millennium School participated in addition to the host school. Darwina Manoj Amarnath and Adesh Deepthi Shaiju from Bahrain Indian School and Ashmika Ramesh Kumar of the New Indian School secured the first, second and third place respectively in the inter-school Symposium.In the Inter-school Quiz, The Indian School represented by Samhith Yedla, Adhya Srijai and Neerada Nas won the first place. The New Indian School and The New Millennium School secured the second and third place respectively.
The response from the students for the competitions was overwhelming. As many as 1350 students attended the MTSE exams and around 700 students took part in the model making competitions.The prizes were given away in the valedictory function conducted in the school auditorium. Principal VR Palaniswamy, Vice-Principals and staff attended. HoD of Mathematics Bijo Thomas coordinated the programme. An exhibition of the models made by the students was also organized on May 18, as part of the Maths Day. ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated students on their active participation in the programme and appreciated the teachers for motivating the students.
