Indian School Annual Sports Day 2023:
J.C Bose House Wins Overall Championship
The 43rd Annual Sports Meet of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) unfolded with fervor and excitement, culminating in a triumphant victory for JC Bose House, which claimed the prestigious overall championship. The event, held on November 24, 2023, at the Isa Town campus, saw spirited participation from students of both the Riffa and Isa Town campuses. JC Bose House emerged as the undisputed overall champion, amassing an impressive 421 points. Vikram Sarabhai House secured the runner-up position with 387 points, while Aryabhata House clinched the third spot with a total of 345 points. CV Raman House secured the fourth position, accumulating 211 points. The competition showcased the diverse talents of students across various disciplines and highlighted the commitment of ISB to fostering holistic development.
Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ihjas Aslam, ICRF Chairman Dr. Babu Ramachandran, ISB Honorary Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, Honorary Secretary Saji Antony, Honorary Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidani, Executive Committee Members Binu Mannil Varughese, Rajesh MN, Ajayakrishnan V, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy, and Vice-Principals attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was a vibrant spectacle, commencing with the national anthems of Bahrain and India, followed by a heartfelt school prayer. Second Secretary Ihjas Aslam had the honor of hoisting the school flag, marking the official start of the event. The ceremony featured a colorful march past, accompanied by the school band, Bharat Scouts and Guides, and state-wise processions, capturing the essence of India's cultural diversity.
Principal VR Palaniswamy extended welcome to the attendees. Prince S. Natarajan received the olympic torch from School Captain Augustin Mascarenhas and declared the meet open. In his presidential address, he reaffirmed the school's unwavering commitment to the development of sports and games as integral components of students' overall personality development. EC Member-Sports Rajesh MN presented a comprehensive report, highlighting the achievements of the school. Saji Antony expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks. The event drew a large audience of students and parents, witnessing the distribution of over 600 medals and trophies to the winners. The march past, a visual delight, saw VSB House securing the first prize with an impressive 60 points, followed by Aryabhata House with 58 points in second place, and CVR House claiming the third spot with a score of 54 points.
