The Indian School Celebrates English Day

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated English Day on October 17, 2024, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their English language skills. The event aimed at fostering appreciation for the cultural and literary aspects of the language. The English Day festivities unfolded with an unparalleled blend of enthusiasm, creativity, and literary finesse. ISB Hon. Assistant Secretary and Member - Academics Ranjini Mohan inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Principal VR Palaniswamy, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas,Head of the Department G.T. Mani, Head Teachers, and Heads of Departments attended the event. The programme began with the national anthems of Bahrain and India, followed by the school prayer. The Literary Secretary Hannah Santhosh Mathew of Class-12 welcomed the gathering.  It was followed by a video presentation of the various competitions conducted in a phased manner for students of all levels as part of the celebrations. Students of Classes 4 & 5 presented an action song while the Senior Secondary students performed a skit titled 'Detachment and Attachment' adding a dramatic flair to the event. It was also delightful to see students from Senior Classes presenting the fictional characters showcasing their creativity in appropriate costumes.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, during which the winners of various competitions were felicitated by Hon.Assistant Secretary and Member - Academics Ranjini Mohan. The Assistant Literary Secretary from Class-11 Arshin Saheesh delivered the vote of thanks. Parijnatha Amin, Zainab Ali Ebrahim,Rosalind Bonny and Muhammad Adnan were the masters of ceremonies. ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Executive Committee Members, and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the students on their exemplary display of creativity and the teachers for their meticulous planning in organizing English Day, which reinforced the school’s commitment to promoting the English language and literature.
