The Indian School Celebrates Malayalam and Sanskrit Days

 Malayalam and Sanskrit Days were exuberantly celebrated at The Indian School Bahrain(ISB), showcasing a diverse array of artistic displays on Sunday, November 3, 2024. The vibrant festivities took place in the Jashanmal auditorium,hosted by the collaborative efforts of the Malayalam and Sanskrit departments. ISB Hon.Asst. Secretary and Hon.Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan  inaugurated the programme  by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Hon.Member-Finance & IT Bonny Joseph, Hon.Member Biju George, Principal VR Palaniswamy,Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G Satheesh,Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, HoD Vibi Sarath, Head Teachers, other Heads of Departments, and the language teachers attended the inaugural ceremony  to celebrate the rich linguistic and literary heritage.  The programme was coordinated by HoD  Vibi Sarath and Sanskrit Teacher Mamatha Mohanan. The day's proceedings featured an array of captivating performances, with students from various sections participating in a variety of programmes. Student  Amritha Jaybush  gave  a warm welcome to the assembled audience. The programme included mesmerizing group songs, dances, skit,recitations and enchanting solo performances, all of which added a kaleidoscope of colours to the celebration. The highlight of the event was a skit  based on  E. Santosh Kumar's short story Panayam which was staged by the students. Cast and crew included students Sreya Sreedevi Raj, Shikha Sathesh,Ashim Ajeesh,Abhinav Binu Safoorathul Howra KC,Muhammad Veliya Vallappil,Austin Maliyekkal Biju,Danish Roshan and Lehna Sajin. Additionally, the departments had organized a series of competitions for the students, fostering their appreciation and proficiency in both Malayalam and Sanskrit languages. Dhanusha Gireesh Nair extended vote of thanks. Priyamvada Neaha Shaju  and  Sreya Sosa John were the masters of ceremonies.  Trophies and certificates were awarded to the talented winners, encouraging their dedication and enthusiasm.  ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese,Hon. Secretary V Rajapandian, Executive Committee Members and Principal VR Palaniswamy expressed their appreciation and congratulated the students and teachers  who actively participated in the well-organized programme.
