The Indian School Celebrates Urdu Day

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) joyously celebrated Urdu Day, also known as Yaum-e-Urdu, at the Jashanmal auditorium in Isa Town campus on Wednesday. ISB Hon.Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon.Assistant Secretary & Hon.Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon.Member Project & Maintenance Mithun Mohan, Hon.Member -Transport Mohammed Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal  Jose Thomas and  Staff Representative Paravathi Devadas  graced the occasion. The event was organized by the Urdu Department, with coordination led by HoD Baboo Khan and Urdu teacher Mahanaz Khan.  The event commenced with the school prayer, followed by the national anthems of Bahrain and India. Sara Rukunuddin of class 4 recited verses from the Holy Quran, with translations provided by Mayeda Fathima. Wardah Khan welcomed the audience, initiating a day that was dedicated to Urdu poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
In his inaugural speech, Hon.EC Member-Transport   Mohammed Nayaz Ullah underscored the significance of the Urdu language and  its cultural richness.  The event featured an array of competitions held throughout the week for students from classes 4 to 10. These included drawing and colouring contests as well as Urdu poem recitation, storytelling, poster-making, and speech competitions. Hibba Niyaz presented Urdu speech on ‘The importance of Urdu language.’  Patriotic group action song titled ‘Mera Pyara Watan’ was presented by students of classes 4 and 5. Apart from this there were a lot of variety programmes such as patriotic song, national songs and a humorous skit ‘Edisson ka Bachpan’ . Urdu Muzahiya Mushiara was the main attraction of the programme.  Huriya Honnali  conveyed  vote of thanks. Shahid Quamar, Erum Irfan Nakhwa,Hibba Niyaz,Gulam Mustafa,Huriya Honnal,Sara Fatima,Arjuman Banu,Abdul Ahad,Wardah  Khan and Fatima Ansha  were the masters of ceremonies. Trophies and certificates were distributed to students who excelled in various categories.  The  organizing team also  included  Srilata S Nair, Mala Singh, Kahkashan Khan, Shabreen Sulthana, Mahanaz Khan, Sidra Khan, Sreekala Suresh, Nanditha Devu Sunil, Sayali Amod Kelkar, Sheema Attukandathil, Ganga Kumari, Girija Vyas and  Jooli Vivek. ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese,Hon. Secretary V Rajapandian, Executive Committee Members and Principal VR Palaniswamy expressed their appreciation and congratulated the students and teachers  who actively participated in the well-organized programme.
