ISB Holds Annual Sports Day 2024

The 44th  Annual Sports Day  of The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) unfolded with fervour and excitement, culminating in a triumphant victory for JC Bose House, which claimed the prestigious overall championship. The event was  held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Isa Town campus with the  spirited participation from students. JC Bose House emerged as the undisputed overall champion, amassing an impressive 446 points. CV Raman House secured the runner-up position with 325 points, while Aryabhata House clinched the third spot with a total of 310 points. Last year also JC Bose House was the overall champions. The competition showcased the diverse talents of students across various disciplines and highlighted the commitment of ISB to fostering holistic development.
ISB Hon.Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon.Member-HSSE & Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Hon.Assistant Secretary & Hon.Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon.Executive Committee Members Bonny Joseph(Finance & IT), Mithun Mohan (Projects & Maintenance),Mohammed Nayaz Ullah(Transport), Biju George, Principal VR  Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas,Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji and  Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas attended the opening ceremony. Former Chairman Prince S Natarajan also graced the occasion.  The opening ceremony was a vibrant spectacle with a  procession celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Bahrain and Indian states. Around 1,000 students participated, showcasing diverse traditions, costumes, and customs from across the country in addition to UNESCO themes. The opening ceremony featured a dance display by Junior  Wing cheerleaders, colourful march past, accompanied by the school band and  Bharat Scouts & Guides.  School Chairman and  EC members presented flowers to all the winners who participated in the Mini Olympics. The march past was  a visual delight with  Aryabhata House securing the first prize with an impressive 60 points, followed by JC Bose House with 56 points in second place, and CV Raman House claiming the third spot with a score of 52 points.
Earlier the day started with the national anthems of Bahrain and India, followed by a heartfelt school prayer. Hon.Chairman Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese who  received the olympic torch from School Sports Captain Pranav Pallipurath, hoisted the school flag and declared the meet open. In his presidential address, he reaffirmed  the school's unwavering commitment to the development of sports and games as integral components of students' overall personality development.  Principal VR Palaniswamy extended welcome to the attendees. Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon.Member-HSSE & Sports Dr Mohammed Faisal in his address congratulated the students on their   achievements for  the school.HoD Sridhar Siva S presented the sports report. Hon.Secretary V Rajapandian expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks. The event drew a large audience of students and parents, witnessing the distribution of over 500 medals and trophies to the winners.

4.Junior Girls:Mona Abdul Majeed-25 points -CVR House  
5.Pre-Senior Boys: Vaibhav Kumar Sahoo -28 points -JCB House  
6.Pre-Senior Girls:  Parvathy Saleesh  -28 points -VSB  House  
7.Senior Boys :Shan Hassan Jaleel -28 points -ARB   House  
8. Senior Girls: Abhisha Sathyan -25 points-ARB House  
9. Super Senior Boys: Sivanand Prajith -26 points -JCB House  
10. Super Senior Girls:  Agnus Chacko-26 points -JCB  House  

ISB Hon. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon.Secretary V Rajapandian,Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon.Member-HSSE & Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal,Hon. EC Members, Principal VR Palaniswamy and Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier appreciated the  diligent efforts of  the physical education teachers led by HoD Sridhar Siva S in ensuring the success of the sports  and the  students for their enthusiastic participation, contributing significantly to the event's overall accomplishment.
