ISB Junior Wing Holds KG Sporting Gala ‘Colour Splash’

 The Indian School Junior  campus sprang to life with a riot of colours and excitement during its Kindergarten Sports Day ‘Colour Splash’ Season 5. Held on Friday, December 6,2024 , the event brought together over 1,300 KG students and a cheering crowd of more than 3,000 spectators. It was a celebration of energy, inclusivity, and healthy living, highlighted by spirited drill displays and thrilling track events.  

ISB Hon.Chairman Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese inaugurated the sporting gala by releasing balloons in the presence of Hon.Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon.Vice-Chairman & Hon. Member HSSE and Sports  Dr. Mohammed Faizal,Hon.Asst.Secretary & Hon. Member-Academics  Ranjini Mohan, Hon.Member-Finance&IT  Bonny Joseph, Hon.Member -Projects &Maintenance Mithun Mohan, Hon.Member -Transport  Mohammad Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR  Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G. Satheesh, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji, and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas.

Applauding the Riffa team for their dedication, Hon.Chairman Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese noted how the students' remarkable performances were a testament to the wholehearted efforts of their mentors. Hon.Secretary V Rajapandian followed with a whole-hearted vote of thanks, lauding the young participants, staff, and parents for their unwavering support in making the event a resounding success. Junior Campus Principal Pamela Xavier expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Committee, parents, and well-wishers for their steadfast support, which made the event a resounding success.

The day began on a ceremonious note with the National Anthems and recitations from the Holy Quran, setting a tone of unity and inspiration. Spectators were captivated by dazzling formations and colourful props masterfully orchestrated by kindergarten teachers, while the school band lent a touch of elegance to the proceedings, escorting dignitaries in style. A historic first for the event, the March-Past featured a harmonious collaboration of the School Prefects, Cubs and Bulbuls, and the School Band, marking a proud moment of unity and discipline that left the audience in awe. Scouts and Guides students were on hand, ensuring a seamless flow of the programme. Primary school students displayed their exceptional skating skills on the rink leaving the audience mesmerized and earning them a resounding applause. The spellbinding performance by the hula hoopers left everyone in awe with their precision and coordination. The cheerleaders brought infectious energy and enthusiasm, lifting the spirits of the crowd and adding vibrancy to the event. Medals and certificates were presented to winners of sprinting and novelty events, adding a touch of triumph to the festivities. The Sporting Gala reaffirmed the school’s commitment to the ideals of the National Curriculum Framework and the New National Education Policy where play and the well-rounded development of the child are pivotal.

The Sports Day drew to a close with Hon.Vice-Chairman & Hon. Member HSSE and Sports  Dr. Mohammed Faizal  officially declared the meet over, marking the end of a vibrant and memorable day. It stood as a shining example of the Junior campus's dedication to fostering a holistic and active learning environment, leaving an indelible impression on everyone who attended. The dynamic Riffa team earned well-deserved applause for orchestrating an unforgettable celebration. The KG Sporting Gala, a one-of-a-kind event on the island, provided every kindergartener a chance to shine, showcasing their budding talents and love for sports.
