2,500 Students Participate in Aalekh Painting Competition:

Winners Honoured at ISB’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration

The Indian School marked a significant milestone with the Platinum Jubilee edition of its esteemed Devji Presents Aalekh Inter-School Painting Competition, held on Friday. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 2,500 students across four age groups, showcasing the outstanding artistic talent of young minds from prominent schools. Students aged 5 to 18 competed in four categories—Drishya, Varna, Srushti, and Pragna—each tailored to specific age brackets. The competition celebrated the vibrant imagination, creativity, and artistic flair of students, turning the campus into a colourful canvas of youthful expression.

In the Drishya category (ages 5 to 7), the winners were:

The event was graced by Devji Group Joint Managing Director Jaydeep Bharatji and Ms. Madhuri Prakash, who served as the chief guests for the two-day event.  Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Member -HSSE and Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal,Hon. Asst. Secretary and Hon. Member – Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon. Member – Finance and IT Bonny Joseph, Hon.Member-Projects and Maintenance Mithun Mohan, Hon.Member Biju George, Hon.Member-Transport Mohammad Nayaz Ullah,Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, Art Education HoD Lekha Sasi and Satheesh Paul attended. The events also witnessed the presence of community leaders and school well-wishers including Platinum Jubilee General Convener Prince S Natarajan, Former Secretary Saji Antony, Former EC Member Premalatha NS, Convener Sasidharan M, Coodinator Devadas C, along with Janardhanan K, Vipin Kumar and  Shafi Parakatta.

The gathering was welcomed by Principal VR Palaniswamy. The presidential address was delivered by Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, who expressed his deep gratitude to Devji Group for their invaluable sponsorship and support. Prizes, which included cash awards, medals, trophies, and certificates, were distributed to the winners by Jaydeep Bharatji, Ms. Madhuri Prakash, and school officials. All participants received appreciation for their efforts, ensuring every young artist felt valued and recognized. Ms. Madhuri Prakash, a proud alumna of the ISB, praised the meticulous organization and the genuine spirit that defined the Platinum Jubilee celebrations during her address. Prince S Natarajan, in his felicitation address, also commended the vibrant participation and collective effort in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A highlight of the event was the Art Wall, a unique feature that provided senior artists with an open canvas to express themselves. Over 20 artists participated, and their selected artworks were proudly displayed in the auditotrium,further enriching the artistic atmosphere.  The judging criteria focused on creativity, composition, theme relevance, and overall presentation, making the selection process both thorough and fair.

Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Executive Committee Members, Principal VR Palaniswamy, and Platinum Jubilee General Convener Prince S. Natarajan expressed their sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the grand success of the event. They extended heartfelt thanks to the dedicated students, committed teachers, supportive parents, and passionate art enthusiasts whose hard work, and unwavering support made the celebration truly memorable.
