ISB Annual Sports Day 2025: JC Bose Wins Overall Championship
JC Bose House emerged as the undisputed overall champion, amassing an impressive 372 points in the ISB Annual Sports Day held on Friday, November 21,2025 at the Isa Town campus. CVR House and VSB House shared the runner-up position with 357 points each. The competition showcased the diverse talents of students across various disciplines and highlighted the commitment of the ISB to fostering holistic development.
LuLu Group International Regional Director Juzer Rupawala was the chief guest. ISB Hon.Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon. Member Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Hon.Asst.Secretary & Hon. Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon.Member-Finance&IT Bonny Joseph, Hon.Member -Projects &Maintenance Mithun Mohan,Hon.Member Biju George, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G Satheesh, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas attended.
The Annual Sports Day witnessed lively participation and vigor, marking the Platinum Jubilee milestone in the school’s 75 years of illustrious journey. The chief guest, LuLu Group International Regional Director Juzer Rupawala, commended the school for fostering a strong sporting culture and encouraging holistic development among its students.
In his presidential address, Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese reflected on the school’s 75-year legacy of service to the Indian community in Bahrain, emphasizing its longstanding commitment to academic excellence and all-round development. Hon. Vice-Chairman and Member (Sports), Dr. Mohammed Faisal, also addressed the audience, applauding the collective efforts behind the grand celebration. Earlier Principal VR Palaniswamy warmly welcomed the gathering and acknowledged the dedication of students, staff, and parents in making the event a memorable one.
Head of the Physical Education Department, Sridhar Siva Samiayya, presented the annual sports report, highlighting the achievements of ISB’s young athletes at inter-house and inter-school levels. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India, followed by the school prayer and a solemn reading from the Holy Quran by Affan Mohammed Khan of 11P.
Earlier the Olympic torch, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship, was ceremoniously lit by Hon.Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, marking the official start of the day’s festivities. In a symbolic gesture, the Hon. Chairman released a cluster of balloons into the sky, marking the formal inauguration of the sports meet. Asst. Sports Secretary, Muhammed Lamih, led the athletes in the solemn sports oath, reaffirming their commitment to fair play. He later presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of appreciation.
Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese hoisted the school flag and formally declared the sports meet open. The occasion was further enlivened by an energetic dance presentation by the Junior Campus cheerleaders, setting an inspiring tone for the day. Adding colour and significance to the celebration, students of Classes 4 and 5 created a vibrant formation of the school’s Platinum Jubilee logo on the field, commemorating ISB’s remarkable 75-year journey.
A highlight of the event was the impressive cultural procession by students from Classes 4 to 8, showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of various Indian states. This was followed by a spectacular house-wise march past led by the school band, scouts, and guides. ISB’s four houses—JC Bose, Aryabhata, Vikram Sarabhai, and CV Raman—marched with discipline and pride as they began their quest for the coveted overall championship.
The day concluded with the distribution of prizes to individual champions, overall champions, runners-up, winning houses, and march-past victors, celebrating excellence across categories. In his vote of thanks, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian congratulated all participants and winners. In March Past Aryabhata House and CV Raman House shared the first prize while JC Bose House won the second prize.
