The ISB Celebrates Punjabi Day
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) marked Punjabi Divas 2025 with a vibrant and culturally rich celebration organised by the Punjabi Language Department. The programme was held on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at the Jashanmal auditorium, showcasing the essence of Punjabi language, heritage and tradition. Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, Head Teacher (Activities) Sreekala R Nair, Salona Pius and Hindi&Urdu HoD Baboo Khan attended. The celebration commenced with a welcome address delivered by Kiranpreet Kaur of class 10R, followed by the national anthem and the school prayer. Shahid Quamar of class 9P recited verses from the Holy Quran, while Hardeep Singh 9T, Jagjot Singh (8E) and Kiranpreet Kaur (10R) recited verses from the Guru Granth Sahib.
A soulful Shabad was presented by Harsimran Kaur (7K), Mankirat Kaur (7I), Hardeep Singh (9T), Abijot Singh (8H), Ikraaz Singh (8H), Manveer Singh (8F) and Jagjot Singh (8E). The event served as the grand finale to a week-long celebration featuring various competitions that encouraged students to actively participate and showcase their talents. The programme was coordinated by HoD Baboo Khan and Punjabi language teacher Simranjit Kaur.
The cultural segment featured lively performances of traditional Gidda and Bhangra, along with energetic Punjabi action songs that captivated the audience. Trophies and certificates were awarded to all winners. The organising team comprised Simranjit Kaur, Kahkashan Khan, Mahanaz Khan, Shabreen Sulthana,Sheema Attukandathil, Ganga Kumari,Saufiya Muhammad, Girija MK and Nita Pradeep. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Khushpreet Kaur of class 8J, marking the successful culmination of a memorable celebration honouring Punjabi language and culture.

Member–Academics Ranjini Mohan, Principal VR Palaniswamy, and Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh extended their heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and participants, appreciating their dedication and cultural engagement.
