Maharashtra and Shaheen Group Clinch Victory in ISB Community Fest Cricket

 Maharashtra A cricket team clinched a thrilling victory over Karnataka A team by 6 runs in the ISB Community Fest 2023 on Saturday. In a nail-biting Indian States category final, Maharashtra managed to score a challenging 32 runs while losing 7 wickets, displaying a spirited batting performance. Karnataka, in response, fought valiantly but could only muster 26 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Natique Abdul Razzak of Maharashtra is the player of the match.  
In the Open Category final, Shaheen Group A showcased their prowess by outclassing Riffa Indian Star, winning by a margin of 16 runs in a tightly contested 6-over match. Shaheen Group A batted first, amassing a commendable total of 40 runs while losing 6 wickets. Riffa Indian Star, in their pursuit of the target, could only manage 24 runs  losing 6 wickets. Asif Mumtaz of Shaheen Group is the player of the match. The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Jashanmal auditorium soon after the matches. The winners of the Cricket and Chess finals were felicitated in the grand finale.

Indian Embassy Attache PS (PIC) Chitta Ranjan Nayak was the chief guest of the grand finale of the ISB Community Fest.  ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon. Under-16 Boys Winners: 1.Pranav Bobby Sekhar, 2.Anish Vaman Khorjuenkar, 3.Vyom Gupta. Under-16 Girls Winners: 1.Kanushi Kishore,  2.Dhruvi Shrikant Panigrahi, 3.Chaarvi Jain. Open Category Winners: 1.Pranav Bobby Sekhar, 2.Prithvi Raj Prajeesh, 3.Anish Vaman Korjuenkar.  Women’s Chess Winners:1.Dhruvi Shrikant Panigrahi, 2.Khansa Nazeem, 3.Sanjana Selvaraj.

ISB Community Sports Fest 2023 was  held in celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate the 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. The sports fest was  also held in celebration of the 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Kingdom of Bahrain. ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy  expressed their sincere gratitude to the Indian Embassy for their  invaluable contribution in making the  Community Sports Fest an outstanding and memorable event. EC Member-Sports Rajesh MN said: ‘It was truly heartwarming to witness the sense of unity and joy that radiated throughout the event, and it would not have been possible without  the selfless efforts of the organizing committee, the Indian Embassy, Bahrain Cricket Federation and Arjun’s Chess Academy.
