Vikram Sarabhai House wins Overall Championship in ISB Youth Festival Tarang 2023

 Vikram Sarabhai House emerged as the overall champions in the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Youth Festival Tarang 2023, which concluded with a glittering grand finale at the school campus in Isa Town on Thursday. Vikram Sarabhai House clinched the overall championship with 1914 points in the hotly contested youth festival, while CV Raman House, securing 1881 points, claimed the runners-up position. Aryabhata House, with 1855 points, secured the third prize, and JC Bose House, amassing 1649 points, secured the fourth position in the youth festival.

Shreya Muralidharan, a Class VIII student from Indian School, was awarded the coveted Kalaratna with 67 points, representing the C level of Vikram Sarabhai House. The Kalashri award was bestowed upon Shashankit Rupesh Iyer, a Class VII student with 59 points, belonging to the C level of Aryabhata House.
The Group Champions in different levels were Krishna Rajeevan Nair (Level A – 69 Points - CV Raman House), Ayana Suji (Level B - 46 Points - Aryabhata House), Chriswin Brawin (Level C - 44 points - VSB House), and Aradhya Sandheep (Level D - 43 Points - Aryabhata House).
Individual House Star awards were also presented to outstanding performers: Arun Suresh, with 56 points, won the House Star award for Aryabhata House; Akshaya Balagopal, scoring 49 points, secured the House Star award for CV Raman House; Alvin Kunhiparambath, with 34 Points, earned the House Star award for JC Bose House; and Rudra Rupesh Aiyer, amassing 56 points, claimed the House Star award for Vikram Sarabhai House.
The overall championship trophies were distributed during a colorful ceremony held at the Jashanmal auditorium. Crown Electro-Mechanical Services Managing Director S. Inayadullah graced the event as the chief guest. ISB Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, ISB Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidani, Executive Committee Members Binu Mannil Varughese, Rajesh MN, Ajayakrishnan V, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy, and community leaders attended the ceremony. Principal VR Palaniswamy extended a warm welcome to the gathering.
Presiding over the function, Prince S. Natarajan declared the overall championship and presented the Kalaratna, Kalashri, and House Star awards. Saji Antony delivered the vote of thanks.
The ceremony featured prize-winning performances in Folk Dance, Arabic Dance, Cinematic Dance, and Western Dance. The program commenced with the national anthems of Bahrain and India, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the lighting of the lamp, and the school prayer.
The ISB Youth Fest stands out as one of the largest school youth festivals in the Gulf countries, boasting more than 4000 students participating in 120 events. The festival operates on a House system, with students organized into Aryabhata, Vikram Sarabhai, JC Bose, and CV Raman Houses, vying for victory. Eligibility for the prestigious Kalashri and Kalaratna awards is based on the students' performance in both stage and non-stage events. Over 800 trophies were awarded to the young talents, emphasizing the festival's scale. Hon.Chairman Prince S Natrajan,Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the meticulous organisation of the event  which  fostered  healthy competition, aiming to showcase students' capabilities in extracurricular activities. Enthusiastic student participation underscored the festival's success in promoting a spirit of competition and excellence.
