The Indian School Celebrates Yoga Day

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) embraced the spirit of unity and well-being as it celebrated Yoga Day on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Students, teachers, and staff came together to honour the ancient practice, emphasizing its profound impact on physical, mental, and spiritual health.  ISB  Hon. Asst.Secretary & Hon. Member- Academics Ranjini Mohan, Principal VR  Palaniswamy,Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas,Head Teachers,  Physical Education Teachers and students  attended.  The International Yoga Day 2024 theme is ‘Yoga for Self and Society.’ This subject emphasises the double benefits of yoga practice: enhancing personal well-being and improving society at large. The theme recognises that inner serenity and self-care are the cornerstones of a happy and healthy existence.
Over 200 students, who had been practicing yoga diligently for days, delivered an exceptional performance on Yoga Day. The yoga session, conducted by ISB Physical Education Teacher R. Chinnasamy, included demonstrations of various yoga asanas. The entire Physical Education department, under the leadership of Head of Department Sridhar Siva and supported by teachers, coordinated the successful programme. ISB Honorary Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Honorary Secretary V. Rajapandian, Executive Committee members, and Principal V.R  Palaniswamy extended their congratulations to the students for their spirited involvement in Yoga Day activities. They expressed appreciation for the Physical Education department's meticulous coordination of the programme.
