The Indian School Celebrates National Tree Week

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) observed National Tree Week today (Wednesday) by holding a special assembly and planting trees on campus. The programme highlighted the importance of promoting environment-friendly practices, such as tree planting and expanding green spaces. This celebration aligns with Bahrain's National Afforestation Plan which aims to plant 3.6 million trees by 2035, supporting the country's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. The National Tree Week initiative is  observed annually in the third week of October.

The special assembly for classes 11 and 12  raised awareness among students through various activities, including tree planting and talks on nature conservation. ISB Principal VR  Palaniswamy, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, head teachers, heads of departments, UNESCO coordinators, and members of the Prefect Council attended the programme. Senior Section Head Teacher Regi Varughese, Head Boy Shan  Diamond Louis and  Head Girl Abigail Ellis Shibu spoke to the students about the importance and benefits of nature conservation. The school officials  congratulated the students for their active participation in the National Tree Week celebrations, emphasizing that the school will promote community partnerships to support this progressive initiative.
