ISB Junior Wing celebrates National Tree Week
The Indian School Junior Campus celebrated National Tree Week to enhance community partnership and raise awareness among students through various activities, including special assemblies and a tree plantation drive. In honour of the National Tree Week, the ISB Junior wing emphasized the significance of promoting environmentally friendly practices, such as tree planting and the expansion of green spaces. This initiative aligns with Bahrain’s national Afforestation Plan, which aims to plant 3.6 million trees by 2035, supporting the country's commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060. Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Vice-Principal Priya Laji, Head Teacher, coordinators, staff, prefect council members and students engaged in the tree planting drive at various spaces in the campus. A special assembly was organized for students to imbibe the green culture. An informative video was showcased to highlight the importance of tree plantation, and the Junior Wing Nature Club generously contributed numerous plants to the school. Students and staff took an oath to plant more trees and practice the 3Rs(reduce, reuse, recycle). They presented posters, speeches and a musical treat on environment conservation.
Head Boy Jeff George, Head Girl Noora Rahmathali and Eco ambassador Sanvika Rajesh reiterated the highlights of the National green initiatives. Pamela Xavier addressed the gathering, underscoring the significance of tree planting and encouraged all to pursue sustainable practices in their daily lives. The school officials congratulated the students for their active participation in the National Tree Week celebrations, emphasizing that the school will promote community partnerships to support this progressive initiative.
