ISB Gears Up for ‘ISB @ 75’ Badminton Tournament
With over 350 players registered and more than 400 matches scheduled, The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) is all set to host the ISB @ 75 Junior & Senior Open Badminton Tournament 2025 from May 6 to 10 at the Jashanmal Auditorium Badminton Courts, Isa Town Campus. The event, part of the school's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, promises to be one of the biggest badminton tournaments in the Kingdom. National Trading House WLL is the sponsor of the tournament. Sanctioned and supported by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF), the tournament has attracted top talent from Bahrain and GCC nations including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The action-packed schedule will officially begin on Tuesday, May 6 at 5:00 pm, with a soft inauguration ceremony at 7:30pm on the same evening.
The tournament will showcase 39 events across four state-of-the-art courts. Categories include Boys’ and Girls’ Singles and Doubles (U9 to U19), Men’s Doubles (Elite, Championship, F1–F5), Women’s Doubles (Levels 1 & 2), and Mixed Doubles (Levels C, 1 & 2). All matches will be played in knockout format, adhering strictly to BWF rules, and officiated by qualified umpires.
Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to winners, and all participants will receive digital certificates for their involvement. The event is being led by Hon. Vice Chairman & Hon. Member-Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Tournament Director Binu Pappachan and Tournament Referee Shanil Abdul Rahim (Badminton Asia), supported by General Convener Adil Ahmed,Coordinator Binoj Mathew, and with advisory guidance from former EC Member-Sports Rajesh MN.
ISB’s renovated sports facilities have been fully prepared to host the tournament. The Jashanmal Auditorium now houses four well-lit courts with impact-resistant PVC indoor flooring, offering players international-standard surfaces that enhance performance while minimizing injury risks. ISB Hon. Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Executive Committee Members including VR Palaniswamy, and Platinum Jubilee Committee General Convener Prince S.
