ISB Hosts ICC Criiio Cricket Festival for Girls

Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) in association with The Indian School Bahrain (ISB)  organised the ICC Criiio Cricket Festival and Tournament for girls on Friday, October 17 at the ISB Isa Town campus ground as  part of the ICC Women’s Cricket Week 2025. Eight teams comprising students from Classes 5 to 12 participated in the tournament, which showcased enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and teamwork. In a thrilling final match, ISB Spartan Team, led by Parvathi Salesh of Grade 8, defeated ISB Super Star, captained by Faiha Abdul Hakeem, by five runs. The event commenced at 2:00pm under the supervision of 14 officials from the Bahrain Cricket Federation, led by Mr. Azeem ul Haq and Mr. Arshad Khan. All players were provided with jerseys and refreshments.

The Criiio Cricket Festival, organised by BCF as part of the global ICC initiative, aims to promote physical activity and inclusivity through cricket. Developed by leading educational experts, the programme encourages individuals of all abilities to stay active, connect with others, and build confidence through small-sided, gamified experiences. It also promotes the concept of Physical Literacy—nurturing lifelong enthusiasm for physical activity and overall well-being.

The event at ISB illuminated the evening with energy, excitement, and empowerment, celebrating the spirit of women’s cricket and community engagement. ISB Head of Physical Education, Mr. Sridhar Siva, and Physical Education teacher, Mr. Vijayan Nair, were in attendance.

ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon. Member (Sports) Dr. Mohammed Faizal, along with other Executive Committee members, Principal VR  Palaniswamy, and Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, congratulated the young cricketers on their outstanding performance and extended their gratitude to the Bahrain Cricket Federation for their valuable support and collaboration in making the event a resounding success.
