ISB Celebrates Malayalam & Sanskrit Day

The Indian School Bahrain(ISB) celebrated Malayalam and Sanskrit Day 2025 with great zeal, highlighting the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the motherland. The celebration brought together students from various sections to participate in a series of competitions and performances that showcased their creativity, language skills, and artistic expression. The event commenced with the national anthems rendered by Sanskrit and Malayalam students, followed by the school prayer. The gathering was welcomed by Rishitha Mahesh (IX-E). The celebration featured a variety of captivating performances including a Malayalam group song by junior and senior students and a folk dance presented by the junior section, featuring Daksha (VI-W), Dakshina (VI-W), Swathy (VI-L), Harshitha (VI-Y), Binisha (VII-D), Adithi (VII-D), Misha (VII-L) and Anmika (VIII-E). The programme continued with a poem recitation by Akansh Anil Kumar (X-F), winner of the senior section Malayalam recitation competition, followed by a Sanskrit group song performed by junior and senior students. A graceful Sanskrit group dance by X-H and X-Q students Avanthika, Hemasree, Seja Lakshmi, Vyshnavi, Hiranmayi, and Nakshatra Raj  added to the grandeur of the event.

 

The audience was further entertained by a Sanskrit storytelling performance by Ganesh Ayilur Yougesh (VII-B). The prize distribution ceremony honoured the winners of both Malayalam and Sanskrit competitions. The prizes were distributed by Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, Senior Section Head Teacher Sini Lal,

 

Activity-Head Teachers  Sreekala R Nair (IX-XII) and Salona Pius (IV-VIII), Malayalam & Sanskrit  HoD Vibi Sarath,Senior Sanskrit Teacher  Mamatha Mohan   and Social Science HoD  Shency George. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Aavani Sudheesh Divya (IX-S). Meenakshi Sudheesh (X-M)and Dilja Jaison(X-F) were the masters of ceremonies.

 

ISB Hon.Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon.Asst.Secretary & Hon. Member-Academics  Ranjini Mohan,  Principal VR  Palaniswamy, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G Satheesh, and HoD Vibi Sarath  congratulated all the winners and appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and artistic excellence. The event was a grand success, reflecting the school’s commitment to preserving India’s linguistic legacy and cultural values.
