ISB Marks Maths Day 2025 with Creative Displays

 The Department of Mathematics at The Indian School, Bahrain(ISB), celebrated Maths Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and participation. The day was marked by a series of intellectually stimulating and creative events that reflected the department’s commitment to nurturing analytical thinking and mathematical curiosity among students.

The celebration featured a wide array of intra-school competitions, including the Math Talent Search Examination (MTSE), Model Making, Display Board Competition, Quiz, and Symposium. Each event was designed to ignite interest in mathematics beyond the classroom and to recognise young talents for their logical and problem-solving skills. Students from different grades participated with zeal, showcasing not only their mathematical ability but also their creativity and teamwork.

The Math Talent Search Examination (MTSE) drew impressive participation from students across Classes IV to VIII. The results of the MTSE highlighted the remarkable mathematical aptitude of students across various grades. In Class IV, Roshan Hari (4Q) secured the first place, followed by Gyan Naveen Pattanashetty (4D) in second and Aiden Anil (4S) in third. In Class V, the top honours went to Dhyaan Aluvakkaran Nishanth (5V), with Steve Emil (5N) and Evan Basil Jithin (5K) taking the second and third places respectively. The Class VI winners included Jameul Islam (6G) in first place, Arpit J. Pillai (6T) in second, and Fabio Ansel (6E) in third. In Class VII, Saanvi Chowdary (7U) claimed the first prize, while Devanshi Dinesh (7B) secured the second. The third prize was shared by Aarav Shrivastava (7S) and Abhay Abhilash (7B). For Class VIII, Aadya Samiran (8L) emerged as the winner, followed by Awwab Subair (8I) in second place, and Naithik Nanda (8E) along with Aditi Sajith (8C) sharing the third prize.

In the Still Model Making competition, Class IV winners were Deborah Sasha Edwin (4T), Ishaan Krishna Sunil (4Q), and Jeff George (4K). For Class V, the first, second, and third prizes were awarded to Shaziya Mehnaz (5U), Pratyusha Dey (5R), and Ziyan Mohammad (5B) respectively. In Class VI, the winners were Evania Rose Benson (6E), Aarohi Syan (6E), and Ishan Krishna P (6X). The Class VII category saw Adwaith Ratheesh (7Q) in first place, followed by Adithya Pratheepan (7S) and Vaiga Harilal (7T). Among Class VIII participants, Niranjan Senthil Kumar (8N) secured the first prize, Minha Fatima (8K) came second, and Lakshiha Shriravi (8Q) third.The Symposium showcased excellent research and presentation skills. In Level A, Darshana Subramanian (XII F) won first place, followed by Joel Shaiju (XI J) and Shashini Gnanasekaran (XII M). In Level B, Araina Mohanthy (IX Q) took the first position, with Tahreem Fatima (IX G) second and Avanthika Anilkumar (X H) third.

The Quiz Competition displayed outstanding teamwork and presence of mind. The first prize went to the team of Abhijith Binu (XI L), Mohammed Yasir Naseem (X F), and Rica Mary Roy (X J). The second place was secured by Joel Reji (IX E), Hisham Abdul Rahman (XI L), and Uma Eswari (IX L). The third place went to the team comprising Madhav Vyas (IX F), Rohin Ranjith (XI J), and Merlyn Sara Benoy (IX Q). Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas  and  HoD Haseena Salim distributed certificates to winners.

Secretary& Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G. Satheesh, and Maths HoD Haseena Salim congratulated the winners and commended the teachers  for organising a day that inspired both intellect and imagination.
