ISB Celebrates Commerce Festival Nishka

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Nishka-2025 with great enthusiasm and spirited participation at its Isa Town campus on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.The annual event featured an array of activities designed to highlight the inherent talents, creativity, and intellectual strengths of students from the Commerce and Humanities streams. Organised jointly by the Departments of Commerce and Humanities, the festival aimed to encourage students to explore learning beyond textbook boundaries and to engage in meaningful and collaborative experiences.

 

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Head Boy Joel George Jogi in the presence of Prefect Khulood Yusuf Hasan Al Hawaj, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, Head Teacher Annly Joseph, Head Teacher Activities Sreekala R,  Heads of Departments Biju Vasudevan(Commerce), Rajesh Nair (Humanities) and members of the faculty.

Nishka, a platform that blends innovation with academic enrichment, provided a vibrant space for students of classes 11 and 12 to express their ideas through artistic, analytical, and practical tasks. Among the major events conducted was the Digital Display Board competition. Students of Class 11 prepared displays on the theme ‘Vanishing Values: Humanity in the Age of Materialism’, while Class 12 students presented work on ‘India’s Journey Towards a Cashless Economy’. Both themes allowed students to reflect on contemporary social and economic issues, encouraging creativity, critical thought, and visual communication skills.The HoDs along with their respective teams, meticulously coordinated the day’s programme, ensuring smooth execution of every event.  

 

ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V Rajapandian, Hon.Asst.Secretary& Hon. Member-Academics  Ranjini Mohan, Principal VR  Palaniswamy, and Senior School &Academic Administration Vice-Principal G Satheesh congratulated all winners and participants for their dedication and impressive achievements during the Nishka celebrations.

Earlier the inaugural ceremony  opened with a welcome address by Christopher Chacko of class 12A, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Ishan Mistry of 11R. The proceedings were conducted with poise and clarity by Niharika Sarkar of class 12D and Hiba P. Mohammed of class 11F, who served as the masters of ceremonies.
