The Indian School Celebrates Republic Day
The Indian School marked the 77th Republic Day of India with a grand flag-hoisting ceremony and an awards distribution event at the school’s Isa Town campus. The event, which took place on January 26, 2026, brought together students, teachers, and parents from both campuses, making the celebration a vibrant and memorable occasion for all. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Member - Finance & IT Bonny Joseph, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji, and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese, followed by a flag salute. A parade featuring the Scouts & Guides and the school band showcased the discipline and spirit of the students. Following the flag-hoisting, the remainder of the program continued in the Jashanmal auditorium, where the school community gathered to witness a series of events. The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the school prayer.
Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, addressed the audience in his presidential speech. He emphasized the significance of Republic Day, reminding the students of India’s transformation into a sovereign republic and urging them to uphold the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
A major highlight of the event was the Felicitation Ceremony, where outstanding students were recognized for their achievements across various fields. The prestigious CBSE Gulf Sahodaya Toppers Awards were presented to the top-performing students in academics. In addition, Distinct Sports Awards were given to those who excelled in sports, while special awards were presented for excellence in the school band, Scouts & Guides activities, and other co-curricular activities.
The cultural program was another exciting part of the celebration. Students from the Junior School performed a patriotic song, filling the hall with their energy and enthusiasm. Devasree Susanth, a student from class IX, representing the spirit of the occasion, delivered a moving speech on the importance of Republic Day and the nation's history. Following this, students from classes VI to IX sang a patriotic song, and students from classes VI to VIII performed a colorful and spirited patriotic dance, creating a sense of unity and pride among the audience.Aadya Samiran Panigrahi,Parijnatha Amin and Varshitha Gotur were the masters of ceremonies.
On the occasion of Republic Day, the award winners were congratulated by the school officials, who commended their hard work, dedication, and outstanding achievements. The dignitaries praised the students for their perseverance and talent, and motivated them to continue pursuing excellence and bringing pride to the school community.
