The Indian School Celebrates Class XII Farewell with ‘Aurea 2026’
The Indian School, Bahrain (ISB) organised a grand farewell ceremony for the Class XII students, marking the culmination of their long and memorable journey in the institution. Many of the students being honoured had completed nearly fourteen years of schooling at the ISB. Aptly titled ‘Aurea 2026,’ the programme symbolised the celebration of their golden years in the school.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India. This was followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Muhammed Arfan. The students then rendered the school prayer with deep emotion, reflecting the significance of the occasion and the sense of parting.
The formal proceedings commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese in the presence of Principal VR Palaniswamy, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Senior Section Head Teacher Regi Varghese, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas and other members of the faculty.
In his address, Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavours. He noted that the outgoing students belonged to a special batch that studied in the school during its Platinum Jubilee Year, and therefore described them as the “Platinum Jubilee Batch.” He encouraged them to carry forward the values and discipline instilled by the school. Asst.Head Girl Anvita VV welcomed the gathering.
A cake-cutting ceremony added warmth and celebration to the occasion. Head Boy Joel George Jogi and Head Girl Meenakshi Madhu Deepthi cut the cake on behalf of the graduating batch. In their farewell address, they expressed heartfelt gratitude to the school for its vital role in shaping their character, values, and aspirations.
The cultural segment of the programme was vibrant and engaging. Students presented a lively Western band performance and a cinematic dance sequence, creating an atmosphere of energy and joy. Special awards such as best artist and best musician were presented to recognise student talents. A fun interactive game, in which students identified the childhood photographs of their teachers, added a touch of nostalgia and laughter. One of the highlights of the event was a farewell video conceptualised, shot, and edited entirely by students, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Asst. Head Boy Aaron Joash Thomas.The event was compered by class 11 students Joel Shaiju, Evana Rachel Binu, Ishita Renu, Shravana Venkat, Aryan Satyan Das, Yasmin Sana, Riva Pinto, Abhinav Shreejith and Ishaan Mistry. “Aurea” concluded on an emotional yet celebratory note, leaving the graduating students with cherished memories and best wishes as they step into a new phase of life.
