ISB Maths Day Showcases Creativity, Talent, and Analytical Excellence
The Indian School celebrated its annual Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm and active participation from students across all grade levels. The event was designed to nurture mathematical thinking, encourage creativity, and provide students with opportunities to apply conceptual knowledge through engaging and innovative activities. The celebrations featured a wide range of competitions for different classes, including display boards, model making, symposiums, quizzes, and digital presentations. Each segment highlighted specific mathematical themes, enabling students to explore concepts in a practical and imaginative manner. Muhammad Adnan (XS) spoke on the topic ‘The Influence of Mathematics in Students Life.’
The event was graced by the presence of Hon.Secretary V Rajapandian, Hon.Asst. Secretary and Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Senior School and Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Vice-Principal Rajesh Nair and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas. The programme was led by HoD Haseena Salim with coordination from the faculty, class coordinators, and activity heads.
For Class VI, the Display Board Competition on ‘Perimeter and Area of Shapes’ showcased impressive presentations. The first prize was awarded to Class 6Q, followed by 6V in second place and 6F securing third place. In Class VII, the Model Making competition on ‘Fractions and Decimals’ witnessed commendable creativity. Ishan Krishna (7F) secured first position, Ciya Kishor (7W) achieved second place, and Taybah (7T) stood third. Class VIII students participated in a Model Making activity on ‘Coordinate Geometry Board,’ where Vedhika J Dalwani (8P) emerged as the winner, Naagashri Methila N B (8E) came second, and Nived Vinod (8D) secured third place.
The Mathematics Talent Search Examination (MTSE) further recognized academic excellence. In Class VI, Dhyaan A N (6W) secured first place, followed by Eshaan Anuraj (6S) and Steve Emil (6H). For Class VII, Cyra Anish (7I) stood first, Jameul Islam (7H) second, and Hussain Ali (7D) third. In Class VIII, Devanshi Dinesh (8B) secured first position, Vardini Jayaprakash (8Q) second, and Rafah Rahiman P T (8E) third.For lower grades, Class IV and V students also participated enthusiastically. In Class IV, Ayush Rajesh (4U), Devavrat Maheshwar (4I), and Sthewan Loganathan (4R) secured first, second, and third places respectively. In Class V, Abu Huraira (5I) secured first place, followed by Roshan Hari (5B) and Mayukh Sandeep Nambiar (5I).
Display Board competitions for these classes also recognized Class 4D, 4Q, and 4Y as the top three, while in Class V, 5T, 5V, and 5J were awarded first, second, and third positions respectively.
Higher classes participated in intellectually stimulating events as well. The Symposium for Class X saw Araina Mohanty (X Q) and Mehreen Fayaz (X E) securing first and second positions. For Class XII, Shravana Venkatesh (XII H) and Ayesha Khan (XII M) were recognized as first and second prize winners.
The Mathematics Quiz witnessed strong teamwork, with teams led by Hiren (XI K), Mohammed Farhan (IX F), and Jewel Liju (IX Q) winning first prize, followed by the team of Nethika (XI-M),Janarakshana (IX-E) and Jaikapeesh (IX-F) in second. The third prize was won by team consisting of Rica Mary Roy(XI-J),Adarsh Ramesh (IX-P) and Jewel Baiju(IX-P).
In the Class X Digital Display Board Competition, X-N secured first place, followed by X-K and X-J. For Class IX, 9P secured first place, followed by 9V and 9G. In Class XI, 11L, 11M, and 11F secured the top three positions, while in Class XII, 12K, 12I, and 12M were recognized.
ISB Hon. Chairman, Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon.Secretary V Rajapandian, EC members and Principal VR Planiswamy congratulated the winners and appreciated the event for providing a meaningful platform for students to develop innovative thinking, and strengthen their commitment towards a sustainable and intellectually enriching future.
