Indian School Shines in CBSE Cluster Bahrain Competitions

 The Indian School, Bahrain, delivered an outstanding performance in the CBSE Cluster Bahrain Chapter 2026–27 competitions, securing championship and runner-up positions across badminton, chess and basketball events.

Leading the medal tally was the school's Under-19 Boys' Badminton Team, which emerged as champions at the tournament held at The Asian School on 21 May 2026. The title-winning team comprised Pranav Nair (Class XII), Dhanashyam Shyam (Class XI), Alan Eapen Thomas (Class XI) and Sarthak Kapse (Class XII). Their exceptional teamwork and consistent performances throughout the competition earned them the championship title and qualification for the national-level CBSE tournament.

The school's badminton teams also produced commendable performances in other age categories. The Under-14 Boys' Badminton Team secured the runner-up position. The team members were Rinvith Rijesh Chetteyeath (VIII N), Yousuf Sajeer M.K. (VI R), Arjun Arunkumar (VIII F) and Achinthayan Satheesh (VI W). The Under-17 Boys' Badminton Team also finished runners-up, represented by Adri Vipin Nivas Vipin (X D), Baron Biju (X B), Barry Biju (X C) and Dheeraj Shyam (VIII U).

In chess, Indian School students showcased remarkable strategic skills and secured runner-up positions in four categories. The Under-11 Boys' Chess Team comprising Abiel Joseph Jenish (V W), Fabyon Franco Francis (IV H), Abel Sinoj (IV F) and Jeff George (V M) finished as runners-up. The Under-14 Boys' Chess Team represented by Kasinath (VIII F), S. Pranesh (VIII P), Aarush Mudanakandy (VII A) and Abhinav Santhosh (VI U) also secured the runner-up position.

The school's girls' chess teams performed equally well. The Under-11 Girls' Team, consisting of Sarah Mohamed (V G), Ira Desai (IV B), Pranavika Sindhan (IV M) and Neera Prajapati (IV N), claimed the runner-up trophy. The Under-14 Girls' Team comprising Harshidha Velmurugan (VI F), Dhaniya Dinesh (VI A), Aditi Rahul (VI Y) and Janet George (VII N) also emerged runners-up.

The school's basketball teams added further glory to the institution. The Under-19 Boys' Basketball Team secured the runner-up position at the tournament held at New Millennium School. The team members were Salman Yaser Husain (IX F), Akhilesh Babu (XII K), Ahmed Mustafa Hassan (IX G), Tarandeep Singh (XI G), Aldric Johnson (X A), Snehlit Lalit Wankhade (XI M), Mert Ali Yatkin (XII A), Nigel Naveed Khan (XII P), Abdulla Ahmed (XII A), Haitham Abdul Malek (XII F), Evon Biju (XII N) and Aaron Sunil (IX S). Their spirited performance and teamwork earned them a well-deserved runners-up finish.

The Under-19 Girls' Basketball Team also finished runners-up after displaying determination and excellent coordination throughout the competition. The team comprised Janaki Saji Kumar Nair (XII I), Faiha Vimal (X R), Kavyanjali Ratheesh (XI J), Sruthi Suresh (XII K), Ifza Barde (XII H), Nanma Elza Thomas (XII E), Ghaniya Siddiqui (XI R), Ashika Beju Kumar (XII R), Aarohi Syan (VII H), Hala Ismail (VIII P), Deanne Jensen (XII P) and Fatima Shashmeen (XII F). Saikat Sarkar (Chess), Anoob G (Badminton) and Mustafa Kareem (Basketball) are the coaches.
