ISB Junior Campus Celebrates World Environment Day 2026
The Junior Campus of The Indian School, Bahrain,(ISB) celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with great enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of protecting nature and preserving the environment for future generations.
As part of the celebrations, members of the Nature Club, along with their teachers, participated in a tree-planting activity on the school premises, reinforcing the message of environmental responsibility through meaningful action. A special highlight of the programme was an inspiring speech delivered by Sreeptha Thatthron Veedu of Grade 3, who spoke eloquently about the significance of World Environment Day and the need to safeguard natural resources.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Pamela Xavier and Vice Principal Priya Laji emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. They highlighted the collective responsibility of individuals and communities in protecting and nurturing the environment.
The event was attended by Head Teachers, Coordinators, Nature Club in-charge teachers and students, all of whom actively participated in the celebrations.
To mark the occasion, a variety of classroom-based activities were organised, including poster-making, slogan-writing, presentations and creative craft projects such as “Best Out of Waste”. These activities provided students with opportunities to showcase their environmental awareness and creativity while promoting the values of sustainable living. The celebration successfully instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among students and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future.
ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, EC Members and Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier congratulated the students for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to environmental stewardship.
