ISB Inaugurates Smart Classroom Project to Transform Learning Across Campuses

 The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) marked a significant milestone in its journey towards educational excellence with the formal inauguration of its Smart Classroom Project on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, at the Jashanmal Auditorium, Isa Town Campus. The inauguration ceremony was graced by H.E. Dr. Sana Saeed Abdulla Al Haddad, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Educational Licensing at the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Bahrain, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Abdulla Khaled Al Khalifa, Chief Communication and Investor Relations Officer of Zain Bahrain, attended as the Special Guest.

 

H.E. Dr. Sana Saeed Abdulla Al Haddad officially inaugurated the Smart Classroom Project, following which a demonstration was presented on the digital display board in the auditorium. The audience witnessed a smart classroom session that showcased the capabilities of the newly installed digital learning technology.

 

On the occasion, H.E. Dr. Sana Saeed Abdulla Al Haddad praised the efforts of The Indian School Bahrain in advancing digital transformation in education, noting that the Smart Classroom Project represents an outstanding model for integrating modern technologies into the teaching and learning process, thereby enhancing the quality of education and enriching students’ learning experiences. She also reaffirmed the Ministry of Education’s continued support for private schools and their developmental initiatives, reflecting its commitment to strengthening educational quality and providing advanced learning environments that keep pace with global developments and contribute to achieving the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.

Member – Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon. Member – Finance & IT Bonny Joseph, Hon. Member – Projects & Maintenance Mithun Mohan, Hon. Member Biju George, Hon. Member – Transport Mohammad Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G. Satheesh, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji, Vice-Principal Rajesh Nair and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas attended the ceremony.

Natarajan; community leader Mohamed Hussain Malim, former Secretary Saji Antony; Indian Community Welfare Association Chairman Adv. VK Thomas and other dignitaries.

 

In his presidential address, Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese highlighted the significance of the Smart Classroom Project, describing it as one of the most ambitious technology-driven educational initiatives undertaken by the school. He stated that the project, implemented at an investment of approximately BD 400,000, has transformed teaching and learning environments across the Isa Town and Riffa campuses and will benefit nearly 11,500 students.

 

Delivering the felicitation address, Mr. Abdulla Khaled Al Khalifa said Zain Bahrain was happy to partner with the school to modernise traditional classrooms into advanced smart learning spaces. A video presentation highlighting the school’s academic excellence, digital infrastructure, and solar energy initiatives was screened during the programme. Earlier, Principal VR Palaniswamy welcomed the gathering. Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian delivered the vote of thanks. Students presented a scintillating Arabic dance.

 

A solemn moment of the ceremony was the signing of the Pledge of Allegiance and Loyalty to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa by the members of the School Executive Committee. The ceremony was compered by Head Boy Abhinav Sreejith and Head Girl Merlin Jeminichan Mangalath. The programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Widad Abdul Latheef.

 

The Smart Classroom Project represents a major step forward in integrating advanced technology into education. The initiative includes the installation of state-of-the-art interactive digital smartboards and a comprehensive CCTV network in classrooms, libraries, and laboratories, significantly enhancing both academic engagement and campus safety. With the successful implementation of this transformative initiative, ISB reaffirms its commitment to providing world-class education, fostering digital literacy, and ensuring a safe, technology-enabled learning environment for every student. The Smart Classroom Project stands as a testament to the school’s vision of embracing innovation while preparing learners to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
