The Indian School Celebrates Teachers’ Day
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5 at Isa Town and Riffa campuses, honouring the dedication, commitment and invaluable contributions of its teaching fraternity.The programme was attended by ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Assistant Secretary and Hon. Member – Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon. Member – Projects & Maintenance Mithun Mohan, Hon. Member Biju George, Principal Santha Kumar Dasari, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Academic Administration Vice-Principal Rajesh Nair, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji and Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas.
The celebrations commenced with Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese garlanding the portrait of Dr S. Radhakrishnan. In his keynote address, he highlighted the vital role of teachers in shaping young minds and nurturing responsible citizens. He said that teaching is not merely a profession but a noble responsibility that shapes minds, builds character and inspires young people to realise their full potential. He appreciated the teachers for their commitment, patience and passion, which continue to contribute significantly to the achievements of the ISB students.
As part of the celebrations, the school honoured teachers with the Tarang 2025 House Official Awards, recognising their valuable contributions, dedication and active participation in making the Tarang Youth Festival a memorable success.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr S. Radhakrishnan, the eminent philosopher and statesman who served as the first Vice-President of India from 1952 to 1962 and the second President from 1962 to 1967. The celebration served as a fitting tribute to the teachers whose efforts continue to inspire, educate and empower generations of students.
