ISB Students Turn Talent into Record-Breaking Achievements
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) is celebrating the remarkable achievements of four of its students who have earned prestigious distinctions in the India Book of Records 2026, bringing recognition to their exceptional talent, determination and accomplishments in sports, knowledge, memory and creativity.
Among the notable achievements is that of Dhanashyam Shyam, a Class 12 student, who has entered the India Book of Records as the youngest umpire to officiate a BWF World Championship match, achieving the distinction at the age of 17. Dhanashyam was among the youngest international badminton officials to officiate at the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026. He was invited by the Bahrain Badminton & Squash Federation to serve as an umpire at the championship, held from February 8 to 14, 2026, at the Isa Sports City National Stadium and Isa bin Rashid Sports Hall in Bahrain. Recalling the experience, Dhanashyam said, “Being the youngest umpire on the court was an incredible challenge and a huge privilege. I’ve learned so much from the BWF senior umpires — their mentorship has been the highlight of my trip.”
The ISB Junior Wing is also proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of three young students who record books for their exceptional memory, knowledge and creativity.
Enam Malik, a Grade 1 student born on January 19, 2019, has been recognised as an ‘IBR Achiever’ for identifying and pointing out 195 United Nations-recognised countries on an outlined world map by viewing their national flags. She accomplished the feat at the age of 7 years and 6 months, as confirmed on July 23, 2026.
Muhammed N, a student of UKG T, has also been recognised as an ‘IBR Achiever’ for identifying the flags and recalling the names of 60 countries in 1 minute, 31 seconds and 62 milliseconds while viewing images of the flags on a laptop screen. He achieved the feat at the age of 5 years and 7 months, as confirmed on July 2, 2026.
Fellah Mebak A, a Grade 3R student born on January 13, 2018, has earned the prestigious title of ‘Grand Master’ for demonstrating remarkable creativity and spontaneity. She composed and sang 25 short English poems, each comprising three to four lines, based on random words presented to her. She completed the feat in 8 minutes and 22 seconds at the age of 8 years and 3 months, as confirmed on June 16, 2026.
ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, EC members, Principal Santha Kumar Dasari, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Academic Administration Vice-Principal Rajesh Nair, and Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji congratulated the students on their outstanding achievements.
